The Poly and Wits Enterprise entered into a partnership agreement in 2013 which has seen the CED offer a range of training activities such as public workshops and seminars in Business Management and Management Development. Last year the CED also offered the Management Development Programme to Erongo RED, and to date no less than 77 individuals have participated in this executive education initiative.
The aim of the MDP is to broaden the perspective of directors, executives and managers whose experience has largely been in specialist areas. This is done through the provision of knowledge, skills and techniques that aim to develop their ability to make sound and informed decisions.
The MDP consists of six modules, namely, Programme Orientation and Group Dynamics, Human Resources Management and Industrial Relations, Theory of Economics, Theory of Accounting and Finance, Operations Management Practice, Theory and Practice of Strategic Management, Project Management and Marketing Theory and Practice. Each module is covered over a seven-week period.
“Through the MDP, the CED has been delivering world-class training to Namibians, thereby significantly contributing to increased capacity and skills among those in positions of management in the public and private sectors,” said Margaret Bennett, CED Director.
