The HRMDP is a joint initiative between the CED and Wits Enterprise based on a relationship established in 2013 through which the CED offers a range of training activities such as public workshops and seminars in business management and management development. Wits Enterprise is owned by the University of Witwatersrand (WITS) and is focussed on the marketing and commercialisation of programmes developed by that university through short courses, among others.
The HRMDP is a new training programme that aims to provide those in the HR field with the skills needed to partner business operations as an effective change management agent and to support organisations’ cultural, financial and strategic objectives. The six-month programme is divided into six modules, including Human Resources as a strategic partner, service strategy and the role of HR and innovation. The HRMDP also aims to equip HR practitioners with the skills and knowledge to position the HR function strategically within an organisation and implement a HR services strategy.
The recent contact session was facilitated by Dr Tim Hutton, a WITS lecturer who has visited the Poly before during contact sessions of the CED’s Management Development Programme (MDP).
