The Poly’s Centre for Open and Lifelong Learning (COLL) recently held a Briefing and Orientation Seminar for new Marker-Tutors that the Centre will be using for the 2015 academic year. During the session, the Marker-Tutors received training and information on a range of issues, including the needs of and challenges facing distance-based students, as well as the role and position of the tutor in distance-based education. Other aspects on which the Marker-Tutors received training included the use of assignments as a teaching tool, tutorial support for Technology Enhanced Learning and monitoring of tutor-marked assignments.
