Prof Sarala Krishnamurthy received a Certificate of Professorship, conferred upon her by Dr Tjama Tjivikua, the NUST Vice-Chancellor, at a Professorial Inaugural Ceremony recently. Prof Krishnamurthy is currently a Professor of Stylistics in the Faculty of Human Sciences.
During the ceremony, Prof Krishnamurthy delivered a lecture titled ‘Post-Colonial Turn, Epistemic Shift and a Prolegomenon to Decoloniality.’
Prof Krishnamurthy has conducted several research and supervisor training workshops for researchers at NUST. She received the Best Researcher of the Year award from her Faculty for two years in a row, in 2011 and 2012. She has been the Managing Editor of NAWA: Journal of Language and Communication since 2008, and serves on the editorial board of several reputable academic journals such as Babel (UK), International Journal of Gender Studies in Developing Societies (USA); and Feminist Encounters, a Journal of Critical Studies in Culture and Politics (UK).
