The IncuLab Programme is an NBII business incubation initiative that aims to facilitate the establishment of successful businesses by providing a comprehensive and integrated range of support services. These services include the provision of office space, structured business support, clustering and networking services as well as virtual incubation via phone, email and an online platform.
The NBII has invited young entrepreneurs to apply for available places within the IncuLab Programme. Those who are accepted can expect numerous benefits such as a place to participate in the NBII’s training, coaching and mentoring sessions as well as taking advantage of the Institute’s networking opportunities. IncuLab Programme participants are also allowed access to the NBII’s well-known Business Bootcamp where they receive support on business plan development.
“We are very excited about the IncuLab Programme this year as it promises to open the door to successful business management and ownership for many young and budding entrepreneurs,” said Bernice Karuhumba, Assistant Manager for Entrepreneurship at the NBII.
The initiative has resulted in much success, with two of its most recent participants, M&O Décor Enterprise CC and Kudus Information Technology, respectively finishing in the Top-5 of the 2014 Sanlam Innovation Works Competition, and winning the NBII Business Plan Competition in 2014. Both businesses have benefited from one-on-one mentorship sessions, business plan development support and sales, marketing and financial management training.
