The High Commissioner commended the role that the Poly is playing in the national development of Namibia. He was highly impressed with the quality of the institution’s graduates, the relevance of its programmes, the international profile of the academic staff and the excellent manner in which the institution is governed and managed. Ambassador Olorunfemi emphasised the need for the Poly to guard against being detached from society as is the case with many universities. He expressed the hope of seeing more collaboration between the Poly and institutions of higher learning in Nigeria.
Prof Tjivikua said he appreciated the relationship between the Poly and the High Commission. He informed the High Commissioner that the institution was built with the assistance of an international professional cadre, including several from the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
