Innovation Festival on the cards

The Namibia Business Innovation Institute (NBII) has launched its first-ever Innovation Festival 2015 that aims to explore ways in which Namibia can sustainably position itself as a global contender.

NBII Innovation Marketplace Manager, Angelica Bergmann, recently launched the Festival, a two-day event that will take place on 15 and 16 April 2015 under the theme, “Innovation in Manufacturing,” in Windhoek.

“The primary objective of the Festival is to approach the manufacturing sector in a local context and to explore means for Namibia to sustainably position itself as a global contender. The event is geared towards engagement and multi-stakeholder dialogue that will serve as a platform for multi-disciplinary collaboration and idea-sharing among Namibian innovators, private sector, government as well as local and international speakers,” Bergmann said.

The Festival will feature expert speakers across a range of fields of innovation. These include business, entrepreneurship, government, social impact, design, the arts and numerous other speakers who will cover a variety of intriguing and thought provoking topics such as Blue Economy, Design Thinking, Product Development, as well as motivational and inspirational talks.

In an effort to create opportunities for local innovators and to facilitate the process of business establishment alongside sustainable growth, the NBII will use the Festival as a platform for local innovators to showcase their products and services.
