The institution has dominated the higher education sector in Namibia in recent years and has established a national, regional and international reputation of quality and excellence. This is reflected by the fact that between 2002 and 2008, the Poly walked away with six PMR Gold Arrow Awards as the Best Higher Education/ Tertiary Education Institution in Namibia. The Poly has won the Diamond Arrow Award (top award) in this category every year since 2009.
This is also the second consecutive year that the HP-GSB has won the award for Best Institution Offering Executive Education, an achievement that illustrates the Poly’s overall commitment to deliver quality education.
The awards are allocated after a detailed research process which rates companies and institutions on the basis of respondents’ perceptions, with a strong focus on evaluating and measuring customer service and customer satisfaction. The awards also represent competitiveness, effectiveness, excellence, leadership, resilience and indicate customer service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Upon receiving the awards, the Rector of the Poly, Prof Tjama Tjivikua, said, “We are very happy and honoured to receive these prestigious awards and to be recognised as the best tertiary institution in Namibia.” He added that the Poly is in the process of transforming to the Namibia University of Science and Technology and that its well-established reputation for quality and excellence in the delivery of education would be carried forward as the institution aims to build on the many successes it has achieved to date.
