Students empowered in Enterprise Systems

A cohort of 65 Informatics and Logistics students attended a 5-day intensive practical course on Enterprise Systems (ES) using SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.

The state-of-the-art DEG (Deutsche Investitions-und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH) and SAP sponsored course is offered at 10 key universities across sub-Saharan Africa to equip students with the scarce and highly sought-after ERP skills.

The course allows students to obtain the valuable SAP UA ‘ES Fundamentals Certificate of Proficiency’ as proof of competence after successfully completing the ES Fundamentals examination at the end of the course.

Josphat Mukabi, the Project Co-ordinator at the Poly, said: “In 2016, we plan to integrate the course into Informatics and Logistics disciplines, as well as to open it up to Engineering and Accounting students.”

Students who are interested in participating in the course may obtain more information from the Project Coordinator or visit the Enterprise Systems Education for Africa (ESEFA) portal at: http://www.esefa.ac.za.
