The Future Leaders Forum was created to harness the imagination of the most promising Hospitality and Tourism students and encourage them to develop successful careers in the industry.
During the event, the students attended exhibitions, networking sessions and round-table discussions.
The NUST students further got the opportunity to compete against 13 other universities for a spot in the upcoming International University Challenge in Frankfurt, Germany.
The Challenge was created in 2009 to allow students to showcase ideas and talents on a global platform. Prizes include all expenses paid flights, accomodation to Germany. The overall winner receives a scholarship.
Although they did not secure spots for the Challenge, Isobel Green, a lecturer in the Hospitality and Tourism Department, who led the group, spoke highly of the experience. “All in all, each student came home with different experiences and smiles from ear to ear. Whether it was the experience of flying for the first time, or learning to increase their employability, this was definitely something worth attending. All students who wish to enter in this field are, therefore, highly encouraged to take part next year to realise their dreams,” Green said.
Since 2003, more than 125 forums have been held globally and approximately more than 7 000 students have participated.
